2026 Curriculum Development – Science (Years 1–10) Resource Developer Roles
- Part-time (up to 0.7 FTE)
- Fixed term: April – December 2026
- Based in any Te Kura location: Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown
We have an exciting part-time, fixed-term opportunity to review, refresh, align, and develop Phase 1–4 (Years 1–10) Science learning modules. This role supports Te Kura's commitment to delivering high-quality, culturally responsive learning resources that meet external curriculum requirements and reflect contemporary science education in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Dedicated support will be provided from within the Curriculum Wāhanga. This position runs from April to December 2026, covering Terms 2, 3, and 4.

We are seeking experienced and passionate kaiako (teacher) to support the review and development of engaging, inclusive Science learning resources aligned with Te Mātaiaho and the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum.
This is a unique opportunity to bring your kaiako expertise, scientific knowledge, and cultural insight to life—helping create Science resources that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy, and that reflect the diverse identities, cultures, and lived experiences of ākonga across Aotearoa.

Ko koe tēnei | About you
Registered kaiako with a current teacher's practicing certificate who brings:
- Recent teaching experience in New Zealand schools
- Strong understanding of the Science learning area across Years 1–10 (e.g. nature of science, living world, material world, physical world, and earth and space science)
- Familiarity with the New Zealand Curriculum Refresh (NZCR / Te Mātaiaho), including the integration of mātauranga Māori, literacy, numeracy, and key competencies
- The ability to design engaging, inclusive, and pedagogically sound Science learning resources that are clear, accessible, and responsive to the diverse needs of ākonga
