2026 Curriculum Development - Pathways Resource Developer
Up to 2 x Full-time (1.0 FTE) (up to 40 hours per week, hours negotiable part-time and full-time considered)
Fixed term: April – December 2026
Based in any Te Kura location: Wellington, Palmerston North, Masterton, New Plymouth, Hastings, Rotorua, Gisborne, Wairoa, Tauranga, Hamilton, Auckland, Whangarei, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill or Queenstown
We are seeking resource developers/subject matter experts who can design engaging, ākonga‑centred online modules across a broad range of employability and personal development topics for our Te Kura Pathways courses.
Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this position
Learning in Pathways includes topics such as: Career Planning, Work Experience, CV Writing, Customer Service, Interviews, Health & Safety at Work, Job Search Skills, Teamwork, Employment Law, Anger Management, Personal Presentation, Time Management, Problem‑Solving, and Personal Wellness. The ideal resource developer will be able to translate complex concepts into accessible, practical learning experiences, ensuring each module supports learners to build confidence, develop essential workplace capabilities, and progress successfully toward employment or further training.
Dedicated support will be provided from within the Curriculum Wāhanga for curriculum development. These roles will be in place for terms two, three and four, 2026.
As a curriculum resource developer you will:
- Develop new and refine existing online content
- Develop assessments that follow the requirements of NZQA unit standards
- Connect and collaborate with the Pathways rōpu and Kaiako Matua throughout the development process
- Design pedagogical experiences that promote learner agency
- Adhere to the Te Kura curriculum development process
- Liaise with the project team through all stages of the development process
Ko koe tēnei | About you
You will be a Registered kaiako (teacher) with a current teacher's practicing certificate.
Have recent experience teaching and/or designing learning and assessments for unit standards in New Zealand schools and be comfortable and familiar with interweaving mātauranga Māori, literacy, numeracy, and capabilities.
