Expression of Interest: Kaiako – Level One Digital Technology (Tokelau Project 2026)
Part-time: 0.4 FTE (16 hours per week)
Fixed term: Term 1, 2026 - Term 4, 2026

Te Kura and the Tokelau Department of Education are continuing their successful partnership into 2026 to:
- Deliver NCEA Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 programmes to Tokelau ākonga.
- Facilitate professional learning and mentoring for Tokelau Kaiako in planning, delivery, assessment, and moderation of standards-based NCEA Level 1 and 2 programmes.
We are seeking passionate, innovative, and collaborative Kaiako in Level One Digital Technology to join our team in 2026.
This exciting role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on Tokelau ākonga, their whānau, and Tokelau Kaiako.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Learning Delivery:
- Deliver two one-hour online sessions per week during school terms.
- Teach to a structured timetable and maintain consistent engagement with ākonga.
- Collaborate with Tokelau Kaiako to co-design a programme of work, including topic selection and alignment with appropriate NCEA standards.
- During the remaining periods where the Te Kura Kaiako is not present, Tokelau
Kaiako teach their class, differentiating their delivery to accommodate the range of abilities and starting points.
- Mentoring & Collaboration:
- Support Tokelau Kaiako in planning, delivery, assessment, and moderation of standards-based learning.
- Provide culturally responsive topics and units that align with the Tokelau Curriculum and context.
Ko koe tēnei | About you:
A pro-active, passionate, innovative, flexible, and collaborative Kaiako who is savvy online, and is able to support ākonga and mentor Kaiako in a confident, culturally competent way. The role will develop and evolve as needs change. You will need to be adaptable and have a can-do attitude.
